Where you see a job marked
with a dog (or dogs), this indicates that a job
is not a live job but a 'Quick Quote". This is like a template for the quick production of a job. In
fact you can take any single-part real job and 'save as' a Quick Quote, which you can then use as
a template for future jobs.
Because Printpak re-optimizes each calculation, in fact all it retains from the original job is the
configuration and parameters of the finished item, and not the production methodology. That way
we can for instance double the quantity and the production route might change to take
advantages of economies of scale.
The red dogs indicate jobs (and tasks) suitable for use by conventional quoting, and the blue
dogs will be for use in 'on-line' style quoting (coming soon).
Why dogs? We were looking for an icon to give the impression of speed, and somebody thought
of greyhounds and the idea just stuck...
