The components tab

This tab deals with the categorization and description of the individual component parts of the job.

You can switch from part to part by pressing the relevant buttons on the toolbar: graphic

Part status:  The status of individual components of the job can be changed by progressing the job (graphic on the Header tab)

Part category:  Each component can be categorized for analysis purposes - e.g. text sections, covers etc.  This is useful when analyzing your work.  Part categories can be set up in System configuration.

Description: In addition to the descriptive text on the Header tab, you can also enter text for each individual component part under the same headings  as for the Header tab.  The difference here is that these descriptions are for internal use only.  They can appear on your job sheets but will not appear on estimates and invoices etc.
For a more general note on text entry and the graphic button, see the article on Text Entry.

The header tab of a Quick Quote template is actually a component tab and the Description will be component text.  This is so that when you create a new Quick Quote job, or add a part to a job using a Quick Quote template, the description of that component is there for you.
