When you select 'Print a quote' you are initially presented with a choice:
A simple quote is just that - the default quotation form is filled with your data and displayed for
you on screen to inspect and print. Any run-on will be quoted per thousand. All the standard
options for saving and printing forms are available to you. The job will have been saved with its
status changed to 'Quoted'.
A quote with alternate quantities will prompt you for
· The run-on quantity. E.g. if you enter 500 then the run-on figure will be calculated and quoted
'per 500'
· Up to 3 alternative quantities. You should be aware that prices for alternative quantities
produced in this way will assume the original production method and will be based on the
original price and cost per thousand. This may not reflect the most cost-effective way to
produce the job. To re-optimize each alternative you should select a 'batched' quote and
recalculate each one separately.
· Extra text to be put on the form (if it's specified in your form layout).
A batched quote provides a method of properly estimating alternative solutions. It saves this job,
marks it for inclusion in your quote and makes a copy of the job, with a new reference number.
You can then amend the text and calculations for this new version, and add it to your quote,
The jobs desktop will be altered so that you can only change the header tab and the calculations
tab, the Master menu is disabled, and the toolbar will be cut back to:
You can repeat the process as required by clicking on 'Add variation' before finally selecting 'Print
quotes' to print the batched quote as a single document. See Printing forms.
