There are four different category types:
·     Types of job such as  Publicity, Office Stationery etc.
·     Types of job components such as  text sections, covers etc
·     Customer area codes to help you analyse your sales geographically
·     Customer business codes to help you analyse your sales by industry
·     Stock categories to help organize your non-paper stocks

In each you can have up to 20 categories.

The most important category is the component category, since that is how we classify quick quotes, It is therefore important to construct this list carefully.

Each category has a single digit identifier, which may sometimes be used as a short cut.

If you change your categories, this won't affect any job directly, but if (say) you changed a category B for Books to B for Brochures, you would then find that all your books were now labelled as brochures!
